 Property Surveys France is one of the few Chartered Surveyors licenced to operate drones for Drone Surveys in France. The regulation and licencing required to commercially operate a drone in France is strict with appropriate qualification and permits being required.

A key area of inspection when undertaking a survey is the roof, chimneys and upper sections. Defects are often found in this area that may in turn lead to water ingress resulting in further problems. Traditionally, access and inspection of such areas during the Survey was limited with the use of ladders only. Full inspection would only have been possible with the use of scaffolding.

However, the development of drones in recent years has provided an excellent way of gaining detailed inspection of roofs. In addition, the drones are fitted with high quality cameras to allow for the production of high-resolution video and photos that can clearly illustrate any defects or wants of repair.
